Temptations and free will.

Spiritual Reflections.  Temptations and free will . How to take advantage of everything that tempts us, to strengthen our will. This reflection deals with the universal law that says that every force, to exist and express itself, has an opposing force that counters it and tries to overcome it. Life is made up of opposing forces and one depends on the other; neither can exist alone as it would be immediately canceled out. Ancient military strategies or Jesus Christ himself when he asks us to love even our enemies express this knowledge or wisdom of polarities and their mutually reinforcing interaction. The honor given to a defeated enemy in ancient times was an expression of gratitude in the open acknowledgment that he contributed to our own strengthening. Today, our blind vanity has foolishly abandoned this wisdom, which has served so many to overcome themselves, not by humiliating anyone, but by honoring the forces that opposed them, both external and internal.  Understan...

Have you ever heard of God?

Have you ever heard of God? The reasons why many reject God. I have a question for you, the person reading these words: Have you ever heard of God? No doubt the answer that has come to your mind is yes. So I ask you the second question: Why didn't you find him interesting enough to take a closer look at him and study him a little? Don't think that I am writing these wo...

Spiritual Reflections.  The meaning of life. The necessity of giving meaning to what we do in life.  Before we ask ourselves whether our lives have meaning or what the meaning of life is, which for most people lasts considerably less than a century, we have to ask ourselves whether we want to ascribe meaning to a life that is finite and limited in time and ends with death, or whether we view life, the Life, as something more than a mere appearance or effect of chemical-electrical processes associated with matter, i.e., whether we are able to envision infinite, eternal life. Without answering this question, it makes no sense to ask about the meaning of life. Our own life literally depends on the answer we give to it. In this sense, the meaning of biological life depends entirely on the life that lies beyond it, namely the life of our consciousness as the unique, eternal self. So where do we direct our inquiry into the meaning of life? If we do not believe that o...
