The Sabbath, by Jesus Christ.

Excerpt from the Great Gospel of John, written by Jakob Lorber by the inner voice.

Book 8. Chapter 90.  Jesus on the proper Sabbath observance.

01] (Jesus:) “Only for the children may the community build a separate schoolhouse and, for a larger community, provide one or, if necessary, several well-trained and modest teachers to teach the youth to read and write, and also arithmetic, handwriting, and several other useful skills. If they have conscientiously and honestly done this with diligence and zeal every day, then they have also sanctified the Sabbath every day; and the community rabbi will do the same if he visits such a school frequently and encourages teachers and students to diligence and zeal and from time to time gives them good teachings in My name. But what he will have to say there, for that I will already take care.

02] It is therefore also right for a permanent community to build a meeting house for children next to the school building, where they can gather from time to time in My name. But in such a house, not only the appointed community Rabbi should have the right to speak and preach, but every male member of the community should have that right if they have been encouraged to do so by My spirit. Because in such a house it should not only be preached about the Scripture and the Prophets and about Me, but also about other things for the deeper and true knowledge of God and for the revival of love for God and neighbor; and there should speak, who is encouraged by My spirit in him to do so, and the community together with its community Rabbi should hear him. And if they do this on whatever day, they will also observe a true Sabbath.

003] But I do not mean that you should therefore completely ignore the order of time and the counting of hours, days, weeks, months and years; you can and should continue to do that. But you should not consider certain days as better or more holy than others just because they fall on the 20th or 50th week or month or year or whatever, and have this or that name, because nothing depends on the number or name, but only on living and acting according to the revealed will of God.

04] For whoever has sinned against his neighbor on a Sabbath, for him the Sabbath was truly no Sabbath! But if someone has done something good for his neighbor on another day, for him even that other day was a perfect Sabbath.

05] Therefore, in the future, everything should be completely free among My true followers, and nothing can elevate a day to a true Sabbath except for deeds that arise from true and living love for God and neighbor. Fie and shame on such a stupid human ordinance that declares it a desecration of the Sabbath to help the poor and afflicted even on a Sabbath! Fie and shame on such priests who teach the people that God takes pleasure in their disgusting blare and in their sacrificial ceremonies, which are only an abomination before Me, as they always were!

06] Therefore let the Sabbath now become a true working day, and let all ceremony consist in pure action according to My Word; I will always look upon this with favor and also reward the true Sabbath keepers with all My grace and love. Thus says the Lord!

07] But those who will keep the Sabbath in the way the Templars do now and have done for a long time, and who ascribe a certain magical sanctifying effect to the Sabbath, as well as to certain holidays and new moons, shall be consumed by the flood of fire of My righteous wrath! – This too has been spoken by the Lord, before whom all days, weeks, months and years are completely equal.

08] Do you now understand how My opinion is valid for all times and eternities? For truly, truly I say to you: The sky and earth, which you now see, will one day pass away; but My words will remain forever! This is now My opinion!”

09] When the Pharisees heard this from Me, they did not know what to say to Me in reply; but the Romans secretly rejoiced because I had approved Markus’ view with My speech, while I advised very significant changes to the view of the scribe. But the Pharisees noticed this and were secretly annoyed, although they did not show it openly.
