Fear.

Fear.

What is fear? Fear is darkness and paralysis. But it is also a tremendous opportunity to attain freedom by decisively opposing this seemingly invincible force.

Those who have experienced great fear so often that they have lost their inner peace have two paths before them: either towards final death, towards eternal night for the soul, or, yes, towards life with all their strength. Fear is connected with powerlessness, so it should awaken power in the soul that can defeat this fear, because there is nothing without a purpose. Fear therefore serves the soul in its own power by attacking it and trying to overwhelm it. This power is life itself, as movement and freedom. Fear is an opposite polarity that stimulates the soul as the opposite pole of movement, because fear, as already said, paralyses the soul.

This tremendous effort, when accomplished by a person, strengthens his will to such an extent that he secretly feels invincible. This is necessary in order to finally escape from the hell of fear; it is his first confidence, which is called resistance. For him, existence turns into a struggle against fear, which he hates with a passion, and he hates everything in himself that causes him fear, while those who surrender to fear love it and thus embrace death. But those who say NO to their own fear begin by drawing courage from it and then, if their mind does not deceive them, seek help. Yes, they search for a savior until they find one, going through life with this one goal: to find HIM, to find the truth, and to find true life from it, a life without fear.

The difference between those who fight and those who give up because of fear is that the former see fear as a big lie, as something they do not want to accept, while the latter accept everything that frightens them as true and right. That is what distinguishes the victorious from the defeated.

Every time fear overwhelms them again, what needs to be done to fulfill the search, they charge themselves with energy like a volcano about to erupt, upward, toward the sky, one arduous step further, away from the ground where they once lay frozen, gripped by fear. They vow that this will never happen again and are merciless with themselves. This helps them not to give up. With every step, they become stronger and calmer, but at the same time they must use their acquired strength to help others on their way, because they are not alone in this struggle. Their advantage was only that they stood naked and trembling before their fear, unable to delude themselves any longer, with no way out except to fight. That is why the path to life is a battle here, a struggle out of isolation and into union with the source of life that gives the spirit the power to render fear powerless, thus fulfilling its function as the opposite pole. The source of life allows the spirit to leave the fight behind. The spirit perceives this source as sacred and calls it God.

All warriors who have faced their fear seek a new connection with the sacred, for they know that fear arose from desecration. Desecration is recognized as something caused by one self. They recognize the guilt within themselves and ask for forgiveness.

So these seekers of truth seek THE ONE who gave them life. When they then realize that they can regain true life from HIM, and that HE forgives them for the desecration—which they themselves had thrown them into a dark stupor—they let go of their fear, yes, they leave everything behind and detach themselves completely from everything that had burdened them, in an incredible and indescribably beautiful self-realization as free immortal angels in the light of heaven, where they are taken back by HIM as His beloved children.
