Primordial substance, matter and spirit.

The path from chaos to order, or from darkness to light.

Let us begin this promising meditation with a question about ourselves: What is the deep reason why people see chaos everywhere in this life and so often find themselves on the brink of despair, driving them to secure every step they take by any means possible, to worry excessively over their fate, to adopt all kinds of superstitions, and even to justify the use of violence against others? If this question seems exaggerated to us, let us briefly consider a few statistics from the EU: Overall, as an average of all studies in 2024/2025, about 50-60% of the EU population lives with noticeable fears of disasters and health risks. Around 84 million people in the EU suffer from mental health problems, often exacerbated by fears of crises.

This leads us to the second important question for our consideration: Is everything that means chaos and destruction a fundamental part of our being/life? Could it be different, if not the circumstances of life, then at least our feelings? Why is it so difficult for humanity in general to live in complete confidence and peace regarding their existence and future?

To answer such questions in this brief reflection, let us identify the shadow of chaos that haunts us daily and then try, in pure trust in God and His plan of salvation, to overcome the fear of catastrophic events in our lives, whether on a personal or global level (society/nature). To do this, let us turn our thoughts to the Spirit of God as a protective force that, in wise order, has given life a purpose embraced by love.

We will take a brief but profound spiritual journey to the beginning of our existence. To do this, we must look at the creation of the universe, what it is made of, and understand the origin and purpose of matter, a sacred purpose that the Creator has placed in every atom of the universe. Thus, through a proper understanding of the purpose of creation, we enable ourselves to no longer see only chaos and death in everything, but order and life, an indestructible life under divine protection from the love of the Lord. Through these thoughts, let us enable ourselves to take a decisive step from the shadow that oppresses us to the light that liberates us. So let us look at creation from a spiritual perspective:

God did not create the universe out of nothing, but out of a spiritual substrate that we can call primordial substance or, quite simply, substance, which differs from the matter we know as elements in that it is formless, without any structure, and invisible. We will therefore accept the matter known to us today as a product of that substance, thanks to creation, as ordered elements (periodic table). But where did God get this primordial substance, or how did it come into being? This question takes us back to the beginning

A look at the Gospel of John 1.

Before the creation of the material, visible universe, there was a purely spiritual creation from the thoughts of the Godhead, which is described in John 1 as the Word that was in the beginning. The Word was God's great creative thought, expressed in purely spiritual beings, countless in number, but some of whom, in the sphere of a spirit we call Lucifer or Light Bearer (John 1:4 In him—the Word—was life, and life was the light of men), did not acknowledge their divine origin, denying God and His light, as it is written in John 1:5: And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not comprehended it. Now, it says "men" and not "spirits," but we can replace men with spirits by recognizing ourselves in those beings who were created before the material universe. Today, as in those distant times, we still do not want to recognize the light of God within us. John 1 is not limited to the material universe, but refers to the whole of creation as a unified whole, where spirit and matter are stages of the path on which we find ourselves as children of God. We will illustrate this idea further below.

What is written in John 1:5 – and the darkness did not recognize the light – has to do, among other things, with a fall from grace that happened a long time ago in the spiritual creation. The shadow of this fall still haunts us as the shadow of our death in the body. What we call the first fall is the free decision of countless spiritual beings, spirits of the original creation, to follow a leader (Lucifer) who wanted to separate himself from God in order to be ruler in his own order. This separation is to be understood as a withdrawal of love. Since love can only be fulfilled through mutual flow, because the lover truly lives through the love given to him by the beloved, when Lucifer withdrew his love from God, one of the two had to lose, and that one was certainly not God, for God is the primordial spirit and, as it says in John 1, the Word, the Light, and Life itself. God is Who He is, Being in Himself, independent of everything else, otherwise He would not be God, that is, the Original Being. But every creature, no matter how powerful, lives through mutual love for the Original Being, God.

Not recognizing the light of life, that is, God, led those spirits into a lightless state, which was equivalent to a lifeless state. This state without light, that is, without life from God, can be described as a fall. And so we come to the primordial substance and the point at which God will reestablish the connection of love to the fallen rebels in a material creation. One might ask why God went to such lengths for the renegades who did not love Him, when He had countless hosts of angelic spirits faithfully at His side.

But God created the universe to save the lifeless creatures, because, first of all, He is pure love. Love is an attractive force, and God, who is all love, cannot separate anything that was created by His love from Himself, truly separate it, which brings us to the second point, that God is everything;  that nothing that was once created from God can be destroyed, because then He would destroy a part of Himself, which is purely impossible, because God IS; He is Being, which can never not be. That is why God—Christ—is always the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Thus, God is also the way to life through material creation, and matter is the ground on which He walks, or on which He calls us to life, which will probably be a life in which the spirit of man with his soul must overcome the material plane, because it is not a final resting place for us, but merely a bridge. Those who grasp this also grasp the light of God and free themselves from the darkness in which they found themselves in fear. Thus, we have already answered our question. However, it is worthwhile to let our thoughts wander a little further on this path to true life.

Matter is therefore a bridge that, through God's will, spans the abyss of separation between the soul and God's kingdom, a monumental work that only He, who is the Word and the Light of Life, can create; a work that transforms the original matter into matter that is useful for a new life beyond this matter, which will have fulfilled its function as a carrier of spiritual life. The following image illustrates this idea.

The primordial fall of the spirits formed the primordial substance of the universe, namely through a complete dispersion into the smallest parts of those beings that were created in the beginning. These smallest parts cannot yet be called matter, but rather substance, which formed the first central suns and through them the remaining planetary solar systems, and which still forms them today, and which still floats invisibly in the ether, distributed everywhere between the material worlds. Through condensation, it appears as nebulae in space, forms suns and planets from protoplanetary clouds, and also falls onto worlds that were created long ago and are ripe for life, or is transported there by the light of the suns in order to join the path of matter and its life forms created by chemical and atomic connections.

Starting from the primordial substance, thanks to the vibration of the Word from God and in God, the atoms of the bridge of life combine to form molecules, molecules in further combinations appear as life forms that represent the plant and animal world. The end of the bridge, which connects to the kingdom of God, is formed by man himself, who, if he wants to take the final step towards true life in the pure spirit, must free himself completely from the matter that has brought him to this life we know, by recognizing the light of God within himself, that is, one born of God and not of the blood and the will of the flesh (John 1:12-13).12-13).

Some who read this may wonder whether science can do anything with this claim about a primordial substance, that is, whether it can find concepts in its works that can be compared to the primordial substance, as something undoubtedly mysterious. Which candidates from scientific research could correspond to this primordial substance? To answer this question, something shadowy comes to mind: according to our current scientific understanding, astrophysics and mathematics offer us dark matter and dark energy as primordial substances.

This is not claimed by science, but we are saying it here. However, we only want to put this comparison on the table for future observations, because it is still an unprovable intuition, but one that certainly makes the visible and invisible components of the universe more interesting, whose nature and origin have not yet been explained by science. This intuition finds an almost visible trace when we turn to quantum physics. Primordial matter and quantum fields equally point to an invisible background for the creation of matter. A very brief description of quantum fields would be: A quantum field is an invisible field that permeates the entire universe, whose quantized vibrations or excitations are perceived as elementary particles (such as electrons or photons). In summary, quantum fields are the fundamental building blocks of the universe, describing both matter and forces by acting as carriers and generators of particles.

What quantum physics has not yet openly confirmed, but suspects, is the effect of the Spirit of God, whom we want to understand here as the sole acting force in order to strengthen our trust in life, as it is written in John 1:4. If we now compare the terms 'vibration' and 'excitation' with the word of God, a connection between science and pure religion becomes possible. In this connection, faith and knowledge support and enrich each other. Faith, which operates on the spiritual level, explains the origin of what knowledge explores but cannot prove its origin and true nature, precisely because it is purely spiritual.

The primordial fall, which is now clearer to us as we reconcile faith and knowledge, thus led to primordial matter. Because it is invisible, we can recognize this primordial matter because it is invisible, like a quantum field, which for us is something, that is, not a void from which matter arises, because nothing can arise from nothing. God creates from Himself, i.e., from Being. We also want to remain open to a possible relationship between quantum fields and dark matter/energy. The future will show us whether or not there is a connection between the two concepts. However, we can, in our spiritual reflection, continue to use the primordial substance without any problems to understand the step from chaos to order, indeed from shadow to light, and to recognize God's plan of salvation in creation

In order for this primordial substance, dissolved and divided into infinity by the separation in the love of God, and which are basically spirits under God's judgment, can reform those primordial beings of which it consists, divine creation comes into play, which with a vibration, what we call the Word in God, places a general stirring or thought into the primordial substance, so that elements gradually arise that form shapes that can express the spiritual in ever greater freedom and consciousness. The primordial substance forms the substrate, a spiritual-material, unstructured substrate, particles that still invisibly fill space because they are spiritual powers scattered to the highest degree, intelligence without order, unity, or power to organize. This is what we call death and what frightens us so much, powerlessness and unconsciousness. God's creation now paves a path for these spiritual powers, albeit a long and arduous one, but a sure path to a goal, life, understood as regained freedom and power in perfect harmony, as new, individual, indestructible, free beings connected to God (in love), we humans, as the image of God's perfection, that is, a created image of the Creator.

It is therefore a circle that begins in the spirit, as the Word in God, in the beginning, and closes again in the spirit after a long time, which is why God is referred to as the Alpha and the Omega Ω

However, since we do not assume, as many thinkers and philosophers do, that the whole cycle repeats itself endlessly and the same spirits fall again, i.e. we – because then we would have learned nothing and our improvement would only be apparent – we can also represent the whole of creation, which is depicted above as a circle to show that the beginning and the end lie in God, in a linear fashion, just to distance ourselves from this idea of eternal repetition (as Nietzsche understands it).

In any case, we do not rule out the possibility of new spirits being created who, in their freedom, will also fail to recognize the light of God, whereby the process would then continue for these souls, and we would be the ones who, faithfully at God's side, would serve the new plan of salvation in order to help these new brothers recognize the light of God. For the path to God is always a kind of detour, not for all, but for many creatures. The angels who remain at God's side, that is, who do not break the connection of love to the light of life, spare themselves the fall that brings them to primordial matter as a spiritual state of darkness and dispersion.

In summary, we obtain the following to understand the transition from universal substrate to organized matter:

The original fall of the spirits with Lucifer  = Primordial matter as the soil of material creation.

God's creation of the material universe  = Matter/elements = increasingly complex combinations of primordial matter as atoms and molecules.

Matter is the outer shell of spiritual powers.

Because matter, which is made of primordial substance, connected and ordered by the forces of creation, forms only the outer shell of spiritual intelligence, the ultimate purpose of creation is to unite these spiritual forces through connections of matter in order to give them ever more intelligence (light), i.e., consciousness. This self-awareness should ultimately rise to divine being, which is why God can only be discovered and awakened within us, as the pure being that God created in His own image.

Everything is spirit. The difference lies in the degree of being as a unified being.

Dispersion / Judgment —————-——— Creation —————— Salvation and rebirth in the light.

Substance ---Matter--- Structure/form---Living beings---Free, individual spirits.

Substance = chaos / Matter = purposeful order

Divine creation, through seven spirits of God, i.e., divine attributes, transforms substance into matter. Thus, substance receives an orderly form that comes into existence in the light, through the will of God (judgment) in the service of the redemption of fallen spirits within the framework of the material, actually second spiritual creation, for all matter is basically only spirit. Creation is the path from chaos to order, through the truth from the life force of God to the rescue of fallen spirits. This life came to us as Christ. We can read this in John 14:6: Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me."

However, these spirits, scattered throughout the universe as primordial matter, need a spark to move from chaos to order, unity, and self-awareness. This is how we come to the light. This light, a material-natural light from the suns—which is driven by a spiritual light source (spiritual sun in the kingdom of heaven), because all creative power, as we have seen, lies in the spirit—has a stimulating effect on matter, i.e., actually on the spirits, but they do not recognize it (John 1:5), because they do not see it as life from God, but from matter itself and from themselves, for they do not believe in the name of God (John 1:12-13). Not believing in the name of God means not believing in the spirit as something real or true and as the force of life. It means ignoring the words of the Lord when he tells us that Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. This was so before the Fall and is still so in every person who denies God as his life. Such a person may rightly live in fear of the shadow of the world because he does not yet recognize the light! Nevertheless, the light fulfills its function in creation regardless. Therefore, let us use it as a spiritual light on our path to true life. It goes without saying that this light we follow is Christ.

The role of light in creation.

Light is life and the bearer of life for human beings, as it says in John 1:4. Without light, there would be no life, and man would not be able to recognize himself, even though, as John 1:5 says, he does not recognize the light, which refers to his inner spiritual light, his spiritual being, given by God as His image, which actually means: not to follow the wisdom of God and His Holy Will from this wisdom. And as already mentioned, it ultimately means a break in love when one takes a path that opposes the path to the light prescribed by God.

This happened in the beginning, after the first spiritual creation, and it still happens today, as mentioned above.  John 1 can therefore be applied to each of our beginnings; to every epoch of humanity that represents a starting point, such as the first human couple, the first civilizations, or the arrival of Jesus Christ on earth. At each beginning, we did not see the light of life, so we fell into denial of God through self-love, which ultimately leads from a phase of false light from within ourselves (self-deception) to darkness and the fall, be it a person or a whole empire on earth. Our history is full of such cases. We want to understand this very well and thus direct our meditation to the true light, the divine, so that we may never again stand in darkness, trembling with fear like little children. The natural light that God has kindled in countless suns from His light spirit for life can be a guide for us when we understand material creation as the backdrop for our spiritual salvation

Light is therefore a promoter of life in creation, which enlightens us that light was not only created to illuminate space, but to give the necessary power to the functional order of matter to move towards what matter is destined to be as the shell of spiritual life, namely the progressive liberation of the fallen spirits who, as primordial matter, lightless, in darkness and chaos. Matter and light are thus inseparable vectors of visible creation, so deeply connected that material light without material objects to strike is invisible, as can be seen when observing 'empty' space. The same applies logically to matter, which without light would also be invisible, but not only that, it would be motionless, lifeless, and incapable of forming life forms. Without light, we would not have come into being as beings in material creation, which would also lead to a complete stagnation of our spiritual life, because we, as the lost sons who separated from our Heavenly Father, need the dynamic order of matter, i.e., the progress of life forms brought about by light, in order to form our human shells for this life in the material plane bound by time and space.

Matter + light = life forms = human beings.

Now we have recognized matter as a spiritual-material foundation, as a quantum of matter, which confronts us with our own deep shadows from which we emerged as conscious beings. These shadows, which we fear so much, those of our death, originate from that distant state of dark consciousness that caused our fall by separating us from God, from His light of life. Some would now say that we carry this in our genes, but it is much older, much further back and deeper than that. And here lies our answer as to why we live with almost constant fear and anxiety and what is the only way to free us from this torment.

We have now recognized matter as the carrier of intelligence or light, reflecting light from the suns, facets of light in every object in the universe, be it a planet or a flower. We now also know that material creation has a spiritual purpose, that it is part of a cycle. But that is not enough to give us the confidence we need to free ourselves from the fear of chaos and death. We must remember and insist: it is necessary to look deep within ourselves, into the center of creation, which means recognizing the true light of God within us. For if the whole of creation, divided into the spiritual and the material, is basically two halves of a circle, where the beginning (alpha) and end (omega) meet, it is therefore a purely spiritual matter and matter is only a state of the spirit. Our contemplation must turn to the spirit that incessantly drives this clockwork, which leads us to the omnipresence of God.

God as the spirit acting above all things.

Let us briefly recall that the definition of the quantum field is that it is something that extends across the entire universe. Without implying that God is a quantum field or The Quantum Field, His (holy) Spirit is what appears to us as this boundless power. This unlimited power is the will of God, with which He drives the entire creation. This will springs from divine love and wisdom and can only create order and good things that fulfill their role in this order.

When we speak of the transformation of primordial matter into organized matter, as well as of light and the warmth inherent in it as the force that gives creation the necessary impetus to form living beings and ultimately us humans, we must raise the actual cause of everything into our consciousness, which is, of course, God. And since we want to free our souls from the fear of certain death in the body, we want to connect with His power, the power that created the universe, to free us from the shadows and lead us into the light that we were unwilling to grasp, as stated in John 1:5, certainly not as reading for our vain pastime.

The connection in love.

Inspired by John 1, we want to briefly clarify once again that all life can only appear and exist as such in connection with the Lord; thanks to this connection, it can express itself as a unified life, self-aware to varying degrees, in a creature. This connection of the soul to God is established and maintained only through love. However, the love of the human soul is bound to our free will, and we can therefore take it away from God and give it to other things, which we call the world, a world that is basically only a mirror of our self-love or selfishness. Love is not a fleeting feeling; it is a force that determines the life we experience. If our love were to turn decisively toward the Lord, we would certainly have a completely different life in a completely different world than the one we know. Hardly anyone would dispute that. But as we have seen and hopefully understood, love that turns away from God and toward the world is inevitably linked to our fall, that is, to death, which unfortunately bases our world on struggle and competition rather than mutual love. We can completely transform our world and our lives by transforming our love, in faith and trust in the Lord. Yes, thanks to a new and better love, we could live here on earth in a true paradise, as a wonderful foretaste of eternal spiritual life, in abundance and peace! That is why Jesus says: whoever believes in me and in my Father will have eternal life (John 3:16 / John 6:47). And this eternal life is a promise of our liberation from the shadow of fear.

A life without shadows.

We have tried here to understand why our lives here are so plagued by worries, and how we can alleviate these worries as much as possible, not with comprehensive insurance, but by grasping the Lord's plan of salvation, which is dedicated to us, to humanity in the universe, that is, an order and purpose that are under God's protection, which also places us, and especially us, under this protective shield, because, as indicated in the image of the cycle of creation, man, we, are the ultimate goal of the ascending order of matter as carriers of the spirit, a spirit that has never ceased to be such; it merely had to pass through various states of consciousness, from less freedom to the greatest freedom, or from shadow to light.

This progressive order in creation serves to accumulate light in each individual soul. Every soul is a jewel of light that can gather the light of God within itself and radiate it as a divine image in the rays of true love. A soul is nothing more than a vessel that can be filled with love in order to pass it on in the fullness given by God to other souls who still suffer from a lack of light. Each of us can thus dispel the shadows of life, first within ourselves, with God's word, then for those who want to see and listen, in order to dissolve the shadows in their lives. Life is spreading light, or, if you prefer, offering shadows as light from the God-given freedom of the soul, that is, lies instead of truth, which can be seen in the works of each individual. This is the way in which man can liberate his love for God, because he feels God's love for him. On this path, no light will ever be able to cast a shadow again, for love for the Lord, as love above all else, frees us from sin, which was the offspring of a bad love that transported us into the shadow world of death.

The spiritual light of life from God is a light of glory for the soul, which reigns free from worry and fear in true life without shadows.

But we are not there yet, for we live in this material world where light falls on an object and that object casts a shadow. As long as we live, our own bodies will always cast a shadow when light falls on us. If we apply John 1:5 to this fact, which is well known to all of us, our shadow, in spiritual terms, is a sign of sin, which was caused by the original fall, i.e., separation from the light of life, God. Our shadow therefore reminds us of our deepest past. This idea of the shadow is also applied in modern psychology and interpreted more or less correctly as part of our being that we should bring into the light. Spiritually speaking, this means nothing other than seeing God in us again, as John 1:12 says: But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name.

To free ourselves from the shadow, we must turn within ourselves, through prayer and meditation, to the light of the Holy Spirit, but mainly in terms of our love, which we should direct inward from the outside world and its material light, not as self-love, but as affection for what makes us similar to the Lord in His attributes: wise love, willpower, patience, perseverance, and above all, mercy towards our fellow human beings. Only in this way can we free ourselves from the shadow of sin, and thus from our deepest fears, for we have received this power and freedom from the Lord through the Holy Spirit, whom we must fully accept as our inner guide, in obedience to God's will.

Those who follow this with humility and sincerity in their souls will, when they shed their material body, as the last shadow, awaken in a purely spiritual world in the hereafter, in a life free from sin and without shadows, under the light of the eternal sun that shines in heaven as the luminous presence of the Lord for all His children and creatures.

All thanks and glory and our unconditional love to the Lord. Amen.
